I just used the 15 lb soda blaster from harbor freight for the first time. No not on the hull, most likely not large enough. However for cleaning up parts in this case two Carter AFB for my Chryslers it was amazing. I actually think it works better than carb dipping. The blaster blew soda through the smallest of holes indicating clean. The carbs look like new now. I am going to rinse them in water to disolve any soda that might remain and use air nozzle to dry.

I will tell you I was amazed at the ease of removal of grime. A note do it out doors with the wind at your back you will get covered with soda. Obviously wear protective glases, mask and gloves even though soda is a safe chemicle.

A little update on the fresh bottom. The river has been around flood stage all season until last weekend. I finally had a chance to open up the throttles. At 4000 rpm, i was getting 32 MPH on the GPS and 45 GPH on the flow guages. Before the bottom job, it took about 4200 RPM to hit 30 MPH and a flow rate of 52 GPH. I rarely run like that, but its fun for 3-4 minutes. Its quite a sensation have all the weight "flying' along the surface!

worth the money, it'll pay back and i'm glad to see it. I'm doin' ours this winter.
