Scorpyon, On nice sumer weekends the posting can get pretty slow here. Many of us are not connected during the w/e and therefore don't check the site. As for the railing, can you easily remove the railing to sand or strip it off the boat? Can you post pics to help us be more clear. My smim platform was really bad, so I removed it and stripped it with paint remover.

Your bulkhead question could provide more info and pics for us to better know the problem.

sorry just anxious to get started, and having ALOT of free time on my hands is getting to me. My fear is that i will do something that will ruin parts of the vessel, or do something that is irreversibly permanent

Once again, sorry for my impatience

I will post more pics with close ups of the covering removed tomorrow. The crack in the wall covering is where it is, its also under my helm(in the DC fuse area.) I believe its because of water sitting in the fuse panel area. The deck area itself doesnt seem to be rotted, only the bulkhead.

Same issue I have - I'm going to cut the rot out and use marine grade ply wood - there are two bolt heads in my rotted area so I have to see what they hold.

So here are the pics a little closer up. Should i replace the whole bulkhead, or just do the same? Cut out the rot and replace that section only.

If that was my project boat, I'd be replacing that bulkhead. And yes, its a big job but that bulkhead needs to be strong.
