restore. clean. paint etc. but most importantly, the block of wood it runs through has gotten rotted pretty bad. they must have let this boat fill up with water alot. I could probly leave it for a few more years but it will have to be done at some point and with the hull completly open I think now is a good time
Its over! worst project yet! 27 drill bits, 5 punches and about 9 real hours. Dont ask me why, I had all the resources I needed other than strengh to lay in the hull. cost was about 75$ and thats only because I borrowed a drill doctor and 12 good drill bits. Press system Larry and I came up with didnt work, she finally let me punch her out after drilling through about 1-1/4 inch of her. never broke any where. Deff hardened steel pin in all brass shaft, striaght thro the center. Worst design ever IMO Even if its a non service item other than the stuffing box.

I need a garage like yours! The sun is burning me!!!
I have a tarp, does that count? LOL This was truly the worst project yet!

IN YOUR GARAGE???? WTHbkwesq wrote:Im doing the same thing. in my garage with plenty of room and leverage it took 4 hours.

haha i wish my garage was that big right now it holds an old 318 and a rebuilt one and my wife would like to kill me! i had the rudder from last summer the guy i bought it from gave me the extra rudder since the one on the boat is bent. To tell you how hard they are to get off, the one he gave me was cut out of a boat, it came complete with the fiberglass still attached
