Bingo! Aaron gets this weeks gold star for obscure Onan knowledge.
Big D was right about the number in the casting by the points box. I have a tool to crank that number into once its known which will tell us the whole story.
Still hanging my hat on my original prediction.
FWIW I've had both the 4 and the 6.5 out of this vintaage. So I am totally cheating with my knowledge.

Like Aaron said, they are ornery, but if you get to know them a little you will have a good run with it I think. Believe me..... its not like I ever
wanted to spend hours and hours in bilges getting acquainted with these beasts, it just ended up working out that way. I guess in the end its kinda fortunate though because here I am with another F-32 with another old a$$ Onan in it.

what can i say, i'm a weenie when it comes to crap like this. keeps me busy while i'm awaiting my doctors to certify my return to flight status. (coming soon to a us air/american airlines flight near you !!! watch out, that hebrew inflight director will be back soon enough). while not a fan of the mcck, i try to learn as much as i can about mine until i get the $$ to either have it rebuilt or get a westerbeake (my wish list). michael, where is that casting # again? i am unfamiliar with that. i do not have a plate on mine, so this would come in handy.

BigD wrote:You may not be able to see it with the heat exchanger there but on top of the block next to the threaded hole where the lifting eye gets mounted, there is a small rectangular raised cast section close to the points box I think with a block serial number stamped on it.
I'd love one of those Weterbeke 7.5's with the low profile design. I don't think I will have this boat long enough to put it in though. No, its not for sale. Yet.......
Gotta find that 14m with no hull graphics and DD 8v92's first.

There is one like that for sale right now on the East Coast, but its 39 inches too short, if ya kno what I mean.......

Well yeah, sure, but I thought we were talking about that one in the picture at the beginning of this thread. The vintage MCCK for 300 bux, not all Onans ever made.
That one is not diesel. Nor is it any other size than 4 or 6.5, and likely not 4. At least thats what
I was talking about. I assumed everybody else was too. Sorry if I was out of turn.

according to my spec sheet that i have, the weight with out heat exchanger is approx. 421 lbs, with heat exchanger is 431 lbs. engine hp is 11, rpm for 60hz is 1800 and the compression should be 7.0:1. fuel consumption is 1 gallon per hour at full load. any more trivia on the mcck 6.5 feel free to ask.
