For anyone going to St. Michaels, please be sure to stick to the channel on the way in. I know a couple, last weekend, who ran aground and after two tries by the Boat US tow boat , who had to run down twice from Kent Narrows waiting for high tide, it cost over a thousand dollars for that grounding of their 42' Sea Ray. That doesn't include pulling the boat for the vibration and damage that they now have. I am still waiting to hear about that one. I haven't been down since 2001, for the antique and classic boat show, but at that time we were strongly advised to stick to the channel.

I just talked to some folks that came down from St. Michaels , they had no issues . if you question the water slow down that way if you did run a ground is easy to back off '

John are you going ?

First, I have to agree, if you can't read a chart then you should not be out there. Paul, right now I am working on my engines. Just had a call, this morning, that my distributors are rebuilt, so I will pick those up today. The weights were free but they were rusty, besides the fact you don't know who has their hands in there. I wanted those right and then it's on to carburetors. I rebuilt those a few years ago but I think it's replacement time. There is only so much you can do. Linkage wears, the metring rods are pitted, etc. I can get parts from Summit but I am a bit tired of just patching. I think I am just going to replace and be done with it. If I can get everything the way I want then I may make it. Toss up right now.

okay, just got my august schedule, and i will be going to recurrent training in charlotte on 20 aug, an on duty day on the 21st and off the 22nd thru the 24th. since i will be motoring over on land, i plan on getting there sometime in the early morning on saturday. dont think you all will have any trouble recognizing me, but i will look for the gaggle of trojans and start introducing myself. be gentle, this is my first event. since phil will be at home with the dog, i will be solo. i also have a really special request. for some reason the previous owner took the v-berth insert with him before i took ownership. why i have no idea but judging from what i keep running into, it's anyone's guess. (when i checked out the boat to begin with, all the oven racks were there, but they were missing too when i bought her) those of you that have a v-berth insert, and are in an f-32, i would like to make a template so i can fabricate one myself.
thanks.

all kidding aside, i find it very odd that both will and i purchased our f-32's from the same broker and both of our v-berth inserts were missing. while i don't generally believe conspiracy theories, i just think that is a little unique. not sure if i will have a piece of cardboard, but maybe a huge piece of paper to do the template trace. are there going to be any f-32's at the function? i would like to at least try to fabricate something.
the easiest way to recognize me will be the tell tale kippah a top my head.
i cant wait to meet some of you fine people from the site. will, are you motoring over or boating over?
