Well, the USPTO sums it up:
How long does a trademark protect a product name? Does it offer any protection to the individual who filed it?

A trademark registration can exist for an unlimited period of time so long as the registrant continues to file timely renewal documents. In response to the second part of your question, it is the mark that's protected against infringement for the benefit of its owner in an enforcement proceeding.

So, the original owner (Trojan Yachts - who is gone) would have to renew regularly.

Good Bye ...

Of course it's their business enterprise, but that support is of far greater importance than a hat or tee shirt.

And so it should be "likewise" for them. For them to say they have the "rights" to a product, without proof, I might add, and prevent us from having our own made up, and then, to top it off, not providing a like product themselves for us to purchase. shows little concern or respect for us, the customer.

Perhaps, without their support, we are dead in the water, but without our support, so are they.

Gentlemen -

I don;t think our forum providers had anything to do with preventing these pennants from being made. They have always been supportive of our Trojan love affairs - and did offer some nice Hats (I still need to order one).

They are attentive when questioned directly, but have more to gain by our Trojan pride than anyone, so I can't imagine they would try to prevent ne wpennants. Prestiges said the pennant producers (David and Jimini) didn't want more made because they wanted to seel them on Ebay, so why not. There are dozens of other flag producers out there, so someone who really wants one, should go ahead and "git er done' ...

Beacon has always come through when I really needed them ...

The registration of the Trojan "mark" was cancelled by the Whittaker corportation (aka Trojan Yacht) on April 23, 1987. As such, you can you this logo as you wish.

However, you need to check this out as well:

The "word mark" "TROJAN", referencing a yacht, is owned by MARQUIS YACHTS, LLC, (Carver, who bought Trojan, was sold to Marquis in Jan this year) and was renewed for a 10 year period starting 6/20/2001. As such, to be safe, don't use the word Trojan on your pennant destined for a yacht unless you make them and use them yourself give them away at no cost.

Enjoy making and sharing your pennants.

That's all I'm saying. This shall be my first and final post.

Looking at Stealths post and URL the Trojan logo that is registered (the grey hashed marks on either side of the helmet are bronze/gold in color) is different than the pennents that were produced and shared by members of this forum. Just saying. As far as getting it done I have,
