OK, The S@%T just got real !!! I have a boat transporter coming to my shop on June 30 2015 at 11AM to haul her big fiberglass A$$ to the sassafras river !!!! She's not where I want her to be yet but I'm close.
This is one of the last pictures I have of her in the water before this whole escapade started!
Image

I dont know the exact date since it was so long ago the picture was actually taken with a 35mm camera! I do know that it was in 2008 ,7 years ago!
I started the project with my Father. He was there through the initial tear down and stringer replacement (He was actually the SOB who convinced me that we could actually accomplish a project like this!)
As most of you know, on December 26 2009 my father was down our shop preparing for a possible flood trying to haul out equipment when he slipped, hit his head, and passed away 30 feet from the boat.
The boat sat, virtually untouched for the next 2 years as I could not get my heart back into it.
My new years resolution on January 1 2012 was to complete the final project that I started with my Dad. On Saturday February 11 2012 I started this never ending thread as a way to document my journey.
I cannot thank you guys enough for all of the support over the years. I know that without it I never would have succeeded.
As we come upon one of my least favorite holidays (fathers day) the irony of the proximity of the launch date puts a tear in my eye and a smile on my face!
as the song from Smokey and the Bandit goes "We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there", I'll give you all one guess where I'll be on my fathers Day!!!!
As alway, Pictures Will Follow!!!

Worked on her 9am to 11pm yesterday and 10am to 8pm on her today.
Got the canvas on, put the old doors back on temporarily until I can afford the new ones. filled the water tank and only had a small leak at the connection to the fresh water washdown in the cockpit, not bad since I replaced ever single piece of plumbing! Tested the head, it finally works correctly! the new pressure switch on the vacuum canister works perfectly. in the past we had to manually turn the vacuum pump off and on as needed. put two coats of bilge paint on the underside of the hatches.
Getting Close!

I have been working on her from 8 am to 10 pm the last 5 days straight! The trucking company had to postpone today's scheduled launch to tomorrow at 10 am. Took off the radar arch tonight and she's sitting in front of the door ready to be rolled outside at 630 am tomorrow morning!!
I promise I will catch up with all the work completed this week and hopefully lauch (or salvage) pictures!!!!
Cross your fingers!!!

Congratulations! I have been following your rebuild and you have really done a fantastic job. Your surveyor told me how impressed he is with the boat and your efforts, and I know from personal experience how meticulous he is.

Can't wait to see the photos of her in the water!
