Thank you for your reply
Nice 58 Hat ... 8-V92s too boot! I'm guessing $80k ... just because of the weak market.
Yes, agree, weak market, will sell for less then 80k, will buy, keep moving up to larger boat, old people like more room, his and her bathrooms are nice
Thanks again

In my opinion, 30 year old boats, have depreciated so much, options are not relative, a high hour gas engine would be cheaper to bring back then a diesel. But the safety concern of the fuel on board has value. Just my opinion. Any comments ?

"... a high hour gas engine would be cheaper to bring back then a diesel." bring back where?

"But the safety concern of the fuel on board has value. " Old gas or new gas - its gas, and is always a concern compared to diesel. I'll never own a large gas powered vessel again. I grew up with gas, and love gas engines, but not in a boat. I can't even leave my old Corvette sitting without having to drain the Obama-induced mix of bad gas, ethanol and water to try to drive down the beach for an afternoon. Some energy independence ... disposing of worthless fuel and buying more to drain it a few weeks later. Brilliant.

I have had my eye on a 1974 Trojan F44 Motoryacht at Bridge Yachts on lake Erie (Canada) for some time now. I have not physically looked at the boat because of poor reports on the Cummins engines. They are 310 hp 903 V8's. I have heard they are hard to get parts for, they are gutless and have issues with cylinder heads. Any opinions? It is down to $69,900.00 and looks like a nice boat. I will be going to a motor yacht within the next couple of years. I am looking for the right boat for the Great Loop. Obviously, I want diesel power but I want dependable engines. jimbo36

I got it, but the statement, "ok, I'll bite", implies, I was not honest in the question.

Sir, and all, can we have an adult conversation about boating stuff ?
The continuing, one upmanship stuff, is annoying
