Hi, I just purchased a 1977 Trojan F26 with a 2012 Indmar 292 5.7l motor. I have yet to take possession of the boat, but I thought I would ask about the blue water capabilities of the vessel. The survey report indicated that she was in above average condition and appears to be so. I will be using the boat on the Sea of Cortez which can get pretty rough at times. My previous boat was a 26' Seaswirl Striper that handled the waves pretty good, but anything over five foot waves had me heading for the marina. I don't expect to be taking the Trojan in that rough of water, but will she handle four footers? Any information about the handling characteristics of a F26 would be appreciated. Thanks and glad to join the Trojan forum.

The Trojan F26 only has 5 degrees of deadrise, so it is not really a rough water boat. The Seaswirl has 20 degrees deadrise, so it will handle rough water much better than the Trojan.
