House boats were very popular in med to late 60's Trojan got into house boats late in the game.

Trojan started making house boats in 1968 maybe ? 1967 They made them for 4 years 1972 being the last year.

A few of the first house boats had a steel hull. After just a few of the steel hull house boats were made Trojan thought better of it and decided that steel hulls were not what they wanted to be making. Only a few of of these house boats were made.

Then came the fiberglass hull and wood top ( halfbreed ). 1969 1970

Trojan made them with V Drives, Single IO's and dual IO's
In 71/72 they were all fiberglass.

The single IO was the most popular. ( far less expensive then the twin engine options.

There were two basic models in 1971 and 1972

34' Houseboat Plan A
34' Houseboat Plan B

With Twin Walters V Drives she was advertised to do 34 MPH

We have the hull files on all the houseboats Trojan made even the odd steel hull ones.

If you have a Hull number we can provide quite a bit of information on any Trojan house boat.

You will not find much of any published info on the Trojan House boats because as one Trojan engineer put it " the Trojan house boats were a orphan child"

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing Bob. I've seen a few of them around my area and I've wondered the story...

I might be a little jealous of the 34 mph!
