ID a Part Please

Hello. I'm trying to ID the yellowish, plastic item with the hose clamps and black hoses on either end and the wires coming out the side. This is on the PS of the I believe, original Onan 6.5 Generator. I
think it is part of the gen water cooling system. It is cracked and leaks when the gen is running. Thanks in advance, Jim.

not sure from your photo if this device is on the raw water intake line or the exhaust, but it kind of looks like a wet muffler with an over temp or water flow sensor

Where do the wires lead to? That might help identifying it.

Sounds right. By the way "what's this thing?" would make a a fun folder of threads to start and maybe help others in the future.
