I have an F-32 with noisy blower fans. If I replace with the units from Jabsco that match the OEM blower, The cost four times what an inline fan from Rule or Attwood costs. Anyone replace theirs yet and if so, other than matching or exceeding the original CFM what if any is the drawback to using an inline versus the OEM flange mount type?

Had the marina replace one of mine a few years back - the original burned out after running almost non-stop for several days as we came through a canal system that was one big 'no wake' zone.

Instead of pulling the old blower out though, they just scabed the 4" Atwood in - sandwiching it between the existing blower hose from the bilge, and taping it to input of the old blower. It blows 'through' the old blower now.

Throughput is (obviously) not as good as it would be if ducted directly outside, and it makes a bit more noise than the original did.

I would expect the only potential issue you may have is the ducting between the blower and the hull - is there a simple vent of some kind that you can bolt to the inside of the hull that will take the hose from the blower, or are you going to have to custom-fab some kind of hood ?

On my F32 replacing the bilge blower with the bathroom blower seemed like a good idea to me. I never used the bathroom blower anyway and it is exactly the same.
