So this whole deal kind of just fell into my lap last week. I'm a 26 year old dude, single, with a fairly cheap living situation above an Aunt's owned business. Life's good life's easy.
I work as a Welder/Carpenter. And through always working with my hands, I've become some what of a jack of all trades kind of guy.
Now to the story. I am building on to my bosses barge (we do marine construction) at a marina near. I end up meeting some of the tenants and one guy had a cool 60's river boat that he rents out through air bnb. I call up a friend and we go check out the marina life for a day. I fell in love.
Fast forward one week. I am talking to my boss about the marina and my stay aboard the house boat and he said he'd talk to the marina owner. (whom I've met multiple times) He responds to my boss saying how he likes me and my work and has an old 1968? Trojan (I believe a Voyager) that he'd give to me and I pay slip fee which is dirt cheap in comparison, I guess the owner likes me.
The boat needs a ton of work needless to say and I'll get the title next week. He just repainted and sealed 4years ago and it's been under roof in the water ever since. I believe 4 years ago was the last time it was running on gas but he said he had the motors running on ether about 6 months ago. So that's where I'll start so I can at least enjoy it while fixing her up.

My hull# is 350-8001 if any info is out there on the motors (if oem) or the hull that would be amazing. I'll have to get some photos up soon.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to be here and falling into this super cool wooden boat. Looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Cheers

Someone put an AC in and switch one door to hinges... Hurts my soul.

The goals is to just have something to putt around the river with maybe an overnighter on the water here and there.

Some photos of the engines would help , from the one photo I would guess ford based .

Here are some more photos of the engine. I know they are ford Windsor heads. Not sure if that's 351 or 302 though.
I'm getting desperate on finding an ignition wiring diagram. The coil wiring seems butchered, I see no resistor, no spark with any method I try, also my bendix gear keeps getting stuck when engaged but that may be improper shimming? I'm pretty sure I can find a diagram in one of the manuals provided on this site. I just need to know specifically what engine I'm working with. I've provided various numbers I've found on the engine in the picture.

Thank you guys so much. The James River is calling my name.

If the valve cover came on the engine you likely have a 351 per the firing order and they look wide some I am betting on 351w

That is definitely a ford. The distributor is forward on the engine.
