Does anyone know where to get rudder bushings for ten meter? Square block on bottom. Thin top hat insert and round top bushing?? I looked on Buck Algonquin site didn’t see them. Any help is appreciated. Also what’s the best way to get the bottom bolts out?? I’m 6ft3 and 300lbs I don’t see how I can get them short of pulling the deck up!!?!

need a small guy to fit back there. It is possible with a small guy.

Bob at Beacon has the lower ones.

I replaced my top bushings with bronze ones instead of the crummy plastic design. Problem solved. I will see if I can find out where I found them

Need someone to confirm that the 10mtr express rudder shafts i's 1 3/8". If so, this is what I installed. Clearance the hole to fit, install opposite of pic so flange sits flush and rest of bearing drops down the hole. 3 Screws and sealant to bearing flange/rudder box surface. Be sure to use a good grease to prevent corrosion . Occasionally regrease at haulout. https://www.propellerdepot.com/00rbf138 ... ng-flanges

one of my rudders has been a bit sloppy for some time - just a bit too much play in it.

I found a sharp metal burr on the bottom of the port side rudder bracket.

This sharp metal had over the years rubbed against the bushing top, destroying it and also grinding into the top of the rudder support, making it in effect BIGGER than it should have been.

During my cosmetic refit this was addressed by filing/grinding that burr off and re-fiberglassing over the top and cutting a new hole for the replacement

bushing.

To prevent further wear, I added a couple of fibre washers to go between the bushing top and the bracket bottom, thereby eliminating any direct friction between the two.

I also had wear, thus the reason to put in the bronze ones
