changing rotation

Guys, I have LM318 right hand rotation engine coupled to a PV31 V-drive.
The engine is bad. I also have a 350 Chev marine engine. Of course its left handed rotation. What is required to change the Chrysler to Chevy and right handed to left? Just thinking out loud..... I need a bell housing adapter, flex plate, prop and would rotate the trans pump. Would the gear drive hold up to turning reverse of what it has all these years? Would it affect the tranny in anyway? Since I'm raw water cooled, what about the water pump?
Thanks

A right hand rotation cam, gear set to replace the timing chain and your 350 becomes a right hand rotation.

In my Chris Craft when I changed out a bad engine, I also changed the rotation. I was in need of a new engine. Was not looking to change the cam and timing chain to change the rotation of the engine I already had, so instead would do it through the tranny. Had a tranny shop "flip" the pump in my paragon P21-R transmission so it would work with an engine spinning the opposite direction. Worked for me!

Thanks, I assume you changed the prop, too. An old mechanic told me that the boat was designed to run with specific rotation. If I changed the rotation I may have handling problems at high RPM's. Did you notice a difference? Thanks
