I'm repainting the bottom this weekend. I have powerwashed and chipped any loose paint. I'm not sanding. I would like to keep it blue with the black stripe. MArina guys are trying to tell me to go with black...why? I kinda like the origional color. Any brand of paint you all recommend or any other advice?

Depends on where you are and not the color. Black or blue has about the same copper content. If you are in a warmer more tropical area go with a higher copper content. It is more expensive but worth it it the long run. Ask the locals, in your area, and see what they are using.
