Trojan Boat Forum

Looking for a schematic or even a clear picture of the switch panel of a Trojan 10 meter. My boat is the first year (1982) convertible but from what I have seen in the past, they used the same panel for the whole production run of this boat. Many of the labels have been removed and I have not been able to run down all the connections to re-label properly. If anyone knows a good contact for Trojan information that would be greatly appreciated for this issue as well as others that come with a 25 year old boat. A good picture of the panel from another owner would be a good start as well.

I live in the Annapolis, Md area and will be selling this boat soon if there is any interest please let me know. Twin 454 Crusaders with velvet drive. Hours are below 500 and the boat has had many interior upgrades including a cockpit refinished in teak.

One note of caution. The what appear to be toggle switches in that panel actually have built in breakers in them. Over the years many ignorant owners/mechanics (including the previous owner of my vessel and me, until I figured it out) have created a TREMENDOUS SAFETY HAZARD replaceing these with plain toggle switches.

Thanks for the offer of a picture and the information on the toggle switches. I probably will need the picture but let's see if anyone else out there can help before I ask you to take your time and have to go down and take the pic and email it.

I did not know about the switches...as far as I know they have not been tampered with but I have several that the retaining ring has been lost and they can be pushed back into the panel if not careful. I also am having a problem with no power going to my fresh water pump. The mechanic said there must be a fuse that is blown but could not find one inline. He sent power directly to it and it still would not fire up.....on my model it is in the floor at the base of the stairs and hard to get to...How do I reset the breaker when I go to test the new pump?....does it reset just by switching it on and off again?

She's behind the house on a lift so it's not aproblem, except it'sdark outside now.

The correct breaker suitches come in different amp ratings and the paddle is shorter and looks different than a toggle switch.

They are high quality items made by AIRPAX.

Themechanic should have tested the connection with at the very least, a test light to determine if power is reaching the pump.

Another problem could be a bad ground to the pump.

The Airpax breakers work just like any other.

Make sure you have power and a good ground before you replace the pump.

You might also try tapping on th eside of the pump while you switch it off and on.

I am still struggling with my electrical box and am in dire need of the photo of your panel so that I can try to re-label and run down some of the poltergeists of this boat. Can you please help?

i have original schematic and wire diagrams for the boat. mine is an 87 express, but I think close tot he same. I may have a photo too. I'll look thru the stuff to see what may be most useful for labeling items in there. I'll need your address.

I'm out of town right now but let me see if I can have someone snap a photo of that panel today.
