Elevman, we all know what it's like to be cruising along with all our passengers enjoying themselves while we keep our inward fears to ourselves - things like weather, engine performance, is the boat sinking, will somebody do a faceplant and require stitches, did the marina's gas have water in it, will the toilet flush...... etc etc..............but you are developing more patience at this than most of us.
I am going to give you heck though for being an elevator repairman yet still not checking those fuel separators before leaving the marina.
You're right though - developing "one engine" driving skills can only be a good thing.

I have had the worst luck, but it cant get you down.
1st) Heavy vibration. Turned out there was a bent prop shaft the surveyor missed. Had to get that replaced along with the coupler and both cutlass bearings.
2nd) Spark plug exploded inside the engine. All new plugs and wires along with distributor.
3rd) Fouled plug in port engine, had to replace along with fuel filters.
4th) Steering wheel almost fell off.
5th) Constant dead batteries, had to fire gene to start engines
6th) Still vibrating. Will redo props once we pull the boat for the winter
This is all in a span of 3 months. I do know however that I am doing the right repairs with the right parts.
