I was watching the rescue on tv. I think it was a great job by the people envolved and definately a great landing by the pilot. Just glad a boat was not in the landing path.

I used to live in Connecticut & New Jersey & have also been by that stretch of the Hudson lots of times. He came in low over the GW; don't want to imagine what it would have been like if he was lower & hit it. It would have been worse than when the plane went down in the Potomac & hit the bridge.

I live at Lincoln Harbor Marina (basically 34th street) and the plane went down around 48th st.

Got some video of it floating by! Very surreal...

as many of you already know from previous postings, i am a flight attendant for us airways. i just got an update from the company that all 5 crew members are safe and sound and at home. 'sully', the captain, also issued a statement yesterday,(he is very humble) stating that it was the skill and professionalism of the entire crew that saved lives. having flown many a trip with him, this is typical of him. he always considers it a crew effort, and not the effort of one person. i hope the plane makes its way to the smithsonian air and space dulles facility..... it (she) should be preserved for all to see. i doubt that N106US will ever fly again. i would love to go up to 'her', tap 'her' on the nose and say---''nice going sweetheart!"
