Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend is almost over, and I certainly don’t want to let midnight strike without giving pause to remember those who have gone before us and given their lives so we might have the freedoms we have today. I could type any given number of cliches and it still wouldn’t express the gratitude I have toward our nation’s veterans, but I just want to say may God truly bless them all for their service.
God bless everyone who served, as we remember them all this Memorial Day!

well said is right and just a note from my family
I made sure, both my children, have met and talked to a vet, they are 17 and 16 and explaned since they were old enough to understand that these men , and in some cases women , are living walking history and to take the time to speak to them about war and having to do what they did. Way to many kids, just look at it like a day off, and hardly any take the time to go to a V Hospital and get to know and make one of these people smile with a handshake. Thats all it takes to say thanks, brings tears to my eyes when I see them, and in my mind, I will never forget the sacrifice of mothers and fathers, even today. I have not stopped flying my flag since 9-11, most people on my street still fly it, and we should never forget what happens when we loose our freedom. Im done, thanks to all of them

From those of us who served, we appreciate your thanks, even though none of us did what we did with any thought of reward, recognition or thanks at the time. And we remember in our prayers those who served with us and are not here today. (USAF, RSVN, 1969-1970)

We are reaching the end of the W.W. II Vets. My Father is still alive ( Air Force ) but my Father-in-law ( Army ) and buddies Father ( Navy ) have past away in the last 2 years, just to think of a couple close at hand.
I have often thought there should be more than one Rememberance Day and Memorial Day a year just to keep everyone aware of where they came from and what we should be thankful for.
