Breaking in after a re-build

I am doing a water test on a 1975 F25- very clean, and the Chrysler 318 had a major re-build 4 hrs ago (I have the receipts for the work!). if it checks out then I will buy it- I have a new survey.

Should I buy the boat... any advice on how to "break in" the engine properly- if this is an issue after a rebuild?

Any advice out there?

Keep the engine cool during break-in (not cold, but don't overheat).

Vary the engine speed widely, but don't run over 3-4,000 for more than a few seconds.

There are probably dozens of good break-in procedures on the web ....
