flybridge tachometers

I feel like the tachs on my flybridge dont work correctly, seems they dont react as quickly as the lower station, is there something I should look into , or quite possibly have to change em,,,, before I start looking into it

You can buy a hand-held tach strobe for < $75 and confirm.

But, if its a gasser, the tachs are probably right, since they run off of the distributor. With diesels you have a whole different set of issues, since theres no ignition.

I know my flybridge tachs were a little off from each other. The port side was always about 200-300 rpms different than the starboard eng.
After my engines were converted to electronic ignition they sync'd up and all are correct.
