Fathers Day was a boating adventure. Saturday my wife and I went sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River and spent the night on the anchor at one of our favorite spots. The next morning (Fathers Day) the fish weren't biting so we decided to pull anchor and go to a car show but the anchor was stuck. I tried everything I could think of but no good. So, tied a fender on the end of the line, pitched it over and went to shore for scuba gear. I haven't dove for twelve years so I wasn't sure all my gear would work but between my wife and I, we have three sets of gear. Digging through the garage I found my medium wet suit didn't fit anymore, found a medium large wet suit, didn't fit either, found a large wet suit, didn't fit either, finally found a XL and it fit, (at this point I was so depressed I needed a dougnut and a bowl of icecream), finally found all the gear I needed and went back to try to retrieve the anchor. I only went to 30ft but the lower Columbia River is dark and murky below ten feet so I had to go by brail. Even with a flashlight I could only see about six inches. I followed the line down and found the line running under a half buried log and about twenty feet upstream I found the anchor buried a foot under the surface in the mud. I sucked a lot of air digging that thing out and getting it out from under the log but I sure was empressed when I saw how deep that plow anchor was buried, . The only way I could figure it got under the half buried log was by the boat turning during the tide changes. I got my anchor back and my Fathers Day was an adventure with a happy ending......and, I got to dive from my Trojan :)

Now that was a adventure. Love the part about the icecream. Glad you got your anchor out. My son scuba dives but we never had to go after our anchor and hope we do not have to.

Funny how those wet suits shrink over time. I've got the same problem with mine.
