1971 Trojan Tri-Cabin Questions

Hello all,

Just new to this forum!!

I recently purchased a 1971 Trojan Tri-Cabin from a gentleman here in Ontario, Canada!!

I'm in the process of starting a restoration and am looking for some insight and hopefully some pictures as well!

By the looks of it, I will have to replace some of the decks which I will then "glass" over and of course the interior needs to be "freshened" up.

Does anyone have any pictures of this year and model of boat that could be helpful?

Welcome!

Here is a YW link, unless THIS is the boat you bought, with pics and some different shots. I like the fold down boarding steps, that's cool!
Aaron should be chiming in to add his and his dad's knowledge soon...have fun!

hi jamie, thanks for the intro. the link that you provided shows a remarkable example of a tri cabin. this is the model produced prior to the introduction of the F-36 tri cabin which came on the scene in 1972. this is the 'sea raider tri cabin' example. these had opening port lights in the forward cabin and the forward head, wooden cabin sides and decks (the achilles heel of this model), wooden aft exterior bulkheads and wooden aft decks(another achilles heel of the design which carried over into the f36 tri cabins for years). watch for window leaks in the forward windows and aft bulkhead windows. they were notorious for leaks.
if the yachtworld link is this vessel, call me a purist, but the interior looks fine the way it is. get rid of the clutter and you have a fine, roomy salon.
feel free to hit me back with any questions regarding the tri cabin.
