Dashboard Gauge Lights

A rather interesting thing has happened to the lights on my upper helm station gauges. Only the (6) smaller gauges (oil, batt, temp) have gone into reject mode.

Meaning they spit out the bulbs/sockets  and only those are hanging by the black single wire. It looks like they were retained by spring fingers that relaxed in and let the socket fall out of the hole in the back of gauge. But when I try to rebend the fingers even wide open they are still too small to fit in the hole.

Was there some kind of other retaining clip that popped off? Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it.

Again just re-bending the fingers will not work, the hole is too big.

wow, that sounds really strange, is it possible the metal lost elasticity?

mine are the same.I have not been able to find replacements to fit the bulb/sockets. Real pain in the butt to try to get em back in to fit and stay... and anyway have an issue with condensation on the of the inside of the gauge lenses when running at night...makes em difficult to see.eventually [on the project list] will replace with updated gauges....maybe window putty....

I found that by cracking open the lower sliders in the helm, the air circulation will help quickly dissipate the fogged lenses. May work for you.
