If you have on of those transmissions in your boat it should look to see what you have . you never can tell what have untill you check thing may have been changed ,if you have the 71 or 72 I can email the man. to you

next week.
If it's not too much trouble, a copy of the 71/72 would be great. That's probably close enough for general info/repairs and would be a good start.
BTW, the boat I'm looking at has never had the trans fluid changed - it's an '88 . Possibly by a prior owner but certainly not in the past 7 years.
What's the maintenance interval on these?
thanks,
Bob

Once a year but most folks do it never or less , I will send it out to you most things have not changed . The newest fld is Dextron v ( any dextron is ok )

Not picking on you Paul.... but if you look at one of the containers that the fluid comes in.... it is Dexron, Not Dextron.
I have been in the automotive parts business for about 27 years and only one time did I have someone pronounce it correctly.

This is a link to the service manuals for Borg Warner Velvet Drive Transmissions 71C-72C. I think it covers all models up to 1986.
