Well, it looks like I bought a boat!

I jumped on the forum here a few weeks ago once I was set on getting a 10m mid cabin express. I looked at about four and worked out a deal today after doing a survey/sea trial.

BTW, I found a great surveyor. He's located in CT but travels. Really nice guy who knows his stuff and covers everything in detail. Here's his contact info:

Philip Gaudreau Jr. AMS
ALLPOINT Marine Services, LLC
11 Pettipaug Road
Haddam Neck, CT 06424
860-467-6956

He was highly recommended to me so happy to pass it on.

My short list from the survey looks like:

- Stuffing boxes have a pretty good leak while docked. Hoping a turn on the
nut buys me a few weeks until it gets hauled.
- aft bilge pump (a little scary because of issue above - i.e., center pump fails)
- riser/elbow on one side
- water pumps (both)
- fume detector
- re-bed all railings/cleats
- leak/hose in hydraulic steering system
- all cooling hoses on the engine
- front hatch leak
- A/C needs a charge
- compound/wax

I'm sure I'll be back with a bunch of questions. Thanks to everyone for replying during my search and emailing me offline. Also thanks to Wes for showing my wife and I his boat a few weeks ago. Different model but he explained a lot of the systems to me which was a big help.

Congratulations and good luck with your boat! What part of CT do you do your boating in? I'm up on the Housatonic River in Shelton, and come out into LI Sound at Stratford Pt.

I guess saying it's a "mid cabin express" is incorrect. Finally figured out that there's a midcabin and an express but not both.

I'm heading back to the boat this morning, still working through the maze of paperwork to get it insured, reg, survey back, etc.

Hopefully I'll get that all sorted today and can start tearing into stuff over the weekend. It's sort of like buying a house that needs work, you have to be careful not to rip apart every room on the 1st day!

Congrats on your new vessel.

Now we need to administer the Trojan initiation rites to make sure you are worthy.

Richard,
It depends on which you're talking about. Are you referring to the beginning where Bob has to send his credit card number to all the Trojan owners in the Forum so we can have a drink on him before he goes broke fixing his new boat up?

Hi Tiki III,

I'm in Clinton and was thinking that we may have enough Trojan owners in the CT area to have a mini rendezvous up here next year.
