Thinking about winterizing

Post by Boaterguy »

Turning the calendar page... again.

I am going to winterize the boat myself. I have the original manuals, and a service manual for the Chrysler 318 but they don't clearly specify the location of the drain plugs. I have a 1975 F25

Can you tell me where the various drains are located. I want to be sure not to miss any.

Thanks

(I did a search for this topic and didn't find any previous posts... unless I missed something.)

There are 2 drain plugs in each engine, 2 in the exhaust manifolds, and 2 in the risers of the exhaust system. On the engine there is a drain plug about midway on the block and towards the bottom on either side. There is a drain plug in the bottom of each exhaust manifold towards the back. There is a drain plug in the bottom of each riser. All these plugs are either 3/8 brass plugs or petcocks.

You will also need the drain the strainers, transmission oil coolers, and the water pumps.
