Drive shafts on a 1975 F25

I've just pulled the shaft out of my F25 to find no bearings as such no seals can some one give me some clues as to how this should be

The bearing is in the strut (rubber & bronze ) right in front of the prop and the "seal" is right behind the gear box its a packing in the big nut
