i've read up on a couple of different ceremonies used in the changing of a boat's name, and will be using one of them this weekend (changed the name to that of my wife over the holidays, and want to make sure it's blessed and logged before the season starts.

).
curious...what did you do for yours (those who've changed names)?

Google it, Tuck there's a couple of them. Oh and it's bad luck to name the boat after your wife.

It's only bad luck unless it's a shrimp boat and your wife has two first names.

forgot about that and crab boats to, but then again lets look at how much govt. red tape those guys get in to and looking for the mailman with that subsidized fed check. Seems the bad luck thing my hold true

I just change the name on it at that was that , ( well had to change it with C G documentation ) I did wait until after the legal change to change it on the Boat until the former owners grand kids got a few things off the boat ( he passed away) It was hard on them and I did not want to make it worse .
I wanted to name the boat after my grand daughter , But she told me point blank that Is was her name not the boats , now years later she wants it named after her

, So I have to change the documentation $$$ and the of course the cost of the letters , Guess what no name change anytime soon

we did the document first as well and First thing this spring the name changes to TIKI III as bflys' grandparents boat was TIKI II. I guess we will have to christen it again.

Nothing special - just changed it. I bought the graphics online and had the marina where it is wintered do it for me.

Don't worry bfly71, your boat used to be named "Belfry" so it has already been renamed, hopefully all the Bad Mojo is gone..lol
