I pulled my props off the boat last night and thought I would share the experience.
I have a tad bit of slop in my starboard cutless bearing so I thought as long as I am there I may as well pull both props and take them to Ohio to be scanned. I have had a bit of a vibration so I figure it can't hurt.
Anyway, I got my hands on a Pro-Pull prop puller. I believe it is a No#113 and works on shaft size up to 2''. What a great puller to use. Once installed on the shaft, I just loaded the prop a bit by turning the handle with my hand, then one wack with a hammer to the hub between the blades and the prop was off. I thought it was going to take much more effort than it did as the props have not been off of this boat for a very long time.
When I was done with mine, I also removed the props on a 39' SeaRay (am I aloud to say the s word here?) Those also took all of about 10 minutes to remove.
I would recommend this puller very highly for anyone looking to remove their props. Now I am off to prop Scan to see what they have to say. I bet I am going to wish the cutless bearing install was as easy as pulling the props off.

A prop scan along with your performance numbers can result in a fine tuning that can yield significant increases in performance, economy and can have a tremendous affect on the longevity of marine diesel engines.

The 12 was a very popular series for Trojan, there were a large number produced.

While she's on the hard could you please take some photos of the hull and post them for us?

This would end the "12 meter tunnel hull/prop pockets" debate once and for all.

Well, I dropped of two sets of props at NorthCoast Prop Tech yesterday. Now, keep in mind my props looked absolutely fine with no visable damage what so ever, but I did have a vibration.
Turns out I am running a pair of Ni-Bral 24x26, that have been repitched to 24x25, and whoever did the repitch did not do a very good job. As soon as Tom scanned the props he stated that he found my vibration. The two props had many issues and did not even come close to matching each other.
I am having them retuned to an ISO Class 1 which will coast about $1,000.00 for the pair.
I will not have them back till the begining of May so it looks like I have to push back the launch date a bit. I knew I should have done this last fall.

I do have some bottom pics that I will post. The bottom on mine is without pockets or tunnels. I don't believe I have ever seen an International any other way.
What service do most of you use to post pictures?

I use photobucket, however I probably whould make a better choice if I was to do it again.

$ 1,000 OUCH!!! What marina are yor at?? I'm looking at the backround of your picture and can't tell. I'm at Bay Harbor East. What would two new props cost?

I am in PIYC in the west Basin. I am located out on the end right behind the new hotel and convention center.
Doing a quick search on the net, a new set of 24x25 Nibral props can run anywhere from $4,000 to $7,000. What I have are damage free so I will go with the fix. It is going to be very interesting to see what difference they make.
How did you make out with the 13 Meter?

Thats real money, good luck with your fix and hope it improves your numbers. I have had an offer in on a 13 meter in Florida for a few weeks now. The broker finally submitted to the bank ( thats another story) two weeks ago, still waiting for response. It looks like I have to start looking again..... I have a couple in mind, although all the 13 meters have sold, there still a few 11 meters around.
