Pleasant Surprises (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH ENDINGS)

I have removed our F32 upper helm canvas, as I'm replacing it with a hardtop, which I'm building, and isn't finished yet. In the meantime I recently went out, without a "hat".

I of course had rolled up the curtains many, many times and enjoyed the breeze while underway and never much thought about the bimini creating a tunnel effect. Also, I had always thought that the bridge "windshield" was kind of cute, but never gave much thought to it's function. Well......I was quite surpised to learn, that without anything overhead, the windshield deflected the airstream completely over my head. Motorcyle folks (which I'm not) have probably known this all along.

So all this brings me to wonder just what surprising experiences other F32 owners may have stumbled upon.

I normally roll up the entire center section of my enclosure for better visibility (instead of just unzipping the smiley and rolling it up) and have noticed the blast of wind if I raise up off the seat a few inches to look for crabpots. I have also noticed a lot less drag and better speed at a given RPM with all the canvas off.

Yes - it is well designed - if you're hot, just stand up!

Nuttin like my F26 with the windshield up , the side windows open and the breeze flowing through.
