Future Trojan Boat owner???

I've always wanted a classic wooden cabin cruiser. I found a 1964 28' Trojan cabin cruiser that a guy REALLY needs to sell. My problem is I know NOTHING about Trojan boats. Here is my question for the experts:
- This boat needs some restoration, what warning signs do I need to look for!
- What type of demand is there for these boats? After restoration, what value would this boat carry?
- Most important....give me something to convince my wife that I need to buy this boat!

Not sure where to start . if you have the time and money and a real love of a wooden boat , then this could be rewarding. If you lack any of the above then this very well could be a mistake .
there will be no money gain on this , so I would not even think of fixing it up to sell at a profit , as you seem to hinting at . It will cost many times more then you think to fix it up .
With that said it can be rewarding to restore a boat . but not in your wallet
post some more info & photos and we can give you a better idea of whats in store

Boats, especially older ones require maintenance. This usually takes a bit of ones time. Wooden boats take quite a bit more maintenance. Restoring old wooden boats can be very expensive and take months or years to complete. Many times you will spend well in excess of the amount needed to but a boat in good running order.
Unless you enjoy restoring old wooden structures, I would not get one. Do you want to spend your time cruising or painting?
Try looking for a nice fiberglass one-there are a couple for sale here, and don't forget storage fees-dock slip and winter storage.

Thanks for the input! I was thinking that this is probably not the most profitable....or even financially sound...purchase. (Just like ALL toys) I just didn't want to shell out huge money to have a boat that's worth $2,000 and no one wants.
I need to think if I'm willing to have a 28' cabin cruiser be my FIRST restoration. I think I would really like the restoration process.....I think.

This is not really a fun toy, the wood issue will make this a FULL TIME JOB.
The good thing is you will have lots of JOB SECURITY!!
