Trojan Boat Forum

Hi All,

It is an official deal, the boat has been sea trialed, hauled and completely surveyed hull, and engines and for 1977, she is a solid boat. No surprises in the surveys other than general maintenance items, hose, belts, house keeping etc.

She'll most likely be named "LARK" (the winning name thus far) and I'll keep her in Coronado California. I want to thank all of you who post your experiences with your Trojan F-32's, it really helped me in this decision and being a smarter buyer and knowing what to look out for and where.

I'll have to send krusty kreme as all of the krispy kremes have disappeared in California, guess it was turning those skinny california girls into "muffin tops"

Congrats on the new purchase and enjoy the old girl - she'll bring you lots of hours of enjoyment and her classic lines still turn heads in the marina.

The boat is a 1977 F-32 sedan, has mercruisers and engine survey reports them to be GM 5.0/305 or Mercruiser model 228's. They have been upgraded with electronic ignitions and new carburetors.

everything except the electronics appear to be original, including the fingerprints.
A nice thing about a So Cal boat is we get very little rain (about 9" per year) so there are NO soft spots anywhere and the stringers sounded and look as new. You can see the bare balsa core at the anchor locker hawse pipe cut-out (soon to be smithed and west systemed) and it is as new! ( I was disappointed of the lack of attention to detail in that area)
About the only fresh water this boat has seen is from the hose, and this one has seen very little lately. Not a blister on the bottom.
My surveyor was very impressed but not surprised by he stoutness of the Trojan, he has not seen many 32's in So Cal, but a lot of the 10 meters (typical Newport beach style boat) and said they usually survey good.

I believe that if you want a Harley, buy a Harley, not a japanese knockoff, and then try to explain it away by "reliablity, price, warranty, blah blah blah" same goes for the Trojan, the title is not even in my name and at the yard during the haul and in the marina, people asked if she is a Hatteras, while a compliment, I was proud to say no, she's a Trojan!..... if I wanted a Hatteras, I would have bought one.

I can't wait to get her home and make that gel coat shine!

by the way, we have named her "LARK" and the RIB inflatable dingy that was included will be proudly named " RIBbed for your pleasure"!
