I am a heavy equipment operator including crane and the operator is ultimately responsible for any and all rigging and pick procedures. I could not imagine not checking the rigging and making sure everything was right for the pick and two guys on board during the pick is against all state and federal labor and industry rules. This should not have happened.

I have known a few folks in the tower industry (wireless) that have died because of riding the ball while stuff was being lifted to the top of a cell tower.

I guess these two guys will remember their first ride on their new boat.
