We ordered a new love seat to replace the original fold out couch on our 79 36 tri. The furniture store salesman was very quick to point out that the reclining love seat backs were easily removable and would allow all the pieces to fit through the 19" salon companionway.
Well when the deliverers came, guess what- the sofa was not able to be disassembled easily as described! What a surprise! What was a surprise was that the factory is sending up two techs tomorrow, that are going to dissasemble the couch, to include removing staples and the reclining mechanism, and reassemble in the boat, and fully warranty it for operation, fit and finish. They were not happy over the sales peoples promise, and would deal with that, but I was very impressed with the factory response, given the cost to send up the techs, rather than to tell us to return it.
Better than removing the headliner and roof section. .
