BP

How many saw the head of BP, walking along the beach on the Gulf coast, telling reporters to get out of the way and acting like an a--hole. I can't remember what US representative was with him, but don't guess he had much to say about anything anyway. Looks like foreign company heads can now come the the US shores and tell us what to do and boss us around!
A new world order, Obama wants now is it, I wonder just how long America is going to last?
North Korea is now sinking ships with torpedoes, Iran is giving us the bird, Brazil and others pay us no mind.
We are quickly running out of time.

Not to defend anything BP is doing.....but the press needs to get the f out of the way and let them fix the problem.... and if BP cant do it than our government needs to step up and do it......this is one of the few situations our government is within its rights to step in and protect our country.

The only problem with that is, our government doesn't have ANY equipment or the know how to do anything about it. We are at the mercy of BP on this.
What the government can help with, and isn't lifting a finger to do, is help with stopping the oil from coming on to shore. Obama is always great is getting people to advise him, but how many experts has he gathered to get advise from, about ways to stop the leak?
It's great to have BP responsible, but at what cost to our country! I always like the press around (when they really do their job) to keep things on the up an up.
I guarantee you, if the government steps in and doesn't have some knowledge of how to stop this,,,,we're screwed,,big time. And if BP doesn't get it stopped in the morning,,,,,

The government's (obama's) actions, or lack of, in response to the oil spill only makes sense if they were involved in the cause of the spill. What has just happened in regards to offshore exploration? No more!!! How long before gas is $10 a gallon? Is this not what obama has said he wanted?

I wish, for my kids and grandkids sake, that I could agree with you.

Gas prices won't be affected by this spill but there will be other impacts.
As for the Government stepping in - I agree with my hubby on this one, if BP can't do it then the government should step in. If the government keeps on par with its current course of doing everything the opposite of how it should, it won't.
We are fully equipped to handle the problem. That is why we have an Army Corp of Engineers. Think Military. They are fully equipped to deal with this type of problem. We have the resources, it will just be a matter of when and how we use them.
I am not a conspiracy thinker but I tend to believe that the delay in action on behalf of the government so far has more to do with it takes the overall focus of the country off of their complete ineptness at running our country.

I disagree. I feel more strongly than ever that the government (spelled it wit h a lower case g on purpose) is impotent and ineffective at handling our domestic problems. I agree that the military can handle it, however we are too busy policing the rest of the world.
I feel that we should employ the same eagerness to help as we have in places like Haiti and other foreign countries. We have had our share of natural and man made disasters this year that have affected MILLIONS of AMERICANS!! And have not received the help from our government (again a lower case g) that they have given to other countries.

I'm sure the Army Corp of Engineers, given the time, could handle the task. But time is the enemy here. In order for our government to take over the spill, it would first need experts to tell them ( the government) how to do it. In his so called press conference, I heard nothing from O that he is assembling a group of experts to figure out anything, he may have talked to a few, I think he said, but not getting them together in a group, do some brain storming and see what they can come up with.
If our government took this same lead during WW2, we would be speaking German now. We can't seem to do anything like we did in WW2. The Manhattan Project would take 10 to 15 years, if we did it today. If the BP plug doesn't fix the leak, we are in for a really, really big mess. And if our government takes over this spill, God help us. Can you just see how many gifts, they can get from the oil companies, all the porn they can watch, if they are in charge.
Bp has their boot on our throat, and they know it, only when the leak is stopped, will it be somewhat, the other way around.
I can't understand what is going on with our government, when they refuse to close our boarders, and spend us into bankruptcy!
What "will" raise the price of a gal of gas is, shutting down the off shore oil drilling, if it is off to long. I can see $5.00 a gal from my house.
All we can do is set back and watch, and it's going to get good. I see that Harry Reid is getting higher in the polls now. In November, we will see just how upset the American people are, but I'm not holding my breath thinking much will change.

Government taking it over would be a disaster.
BP continuing its clueless attempts is a disaster.
A competitor should be offered all of BP's oil drilling rights if it can plug it in a week. Bet it would get plugged quick!
Ronnie would say "Somebody - plug this hole!"

So... where are all the other companies operating in the Gulf??? Why aren't any coming forward and offering their help for the good of the USA??? Taking over BP's rights or otherwise, if any other oil company gave a damn about the USA (instead of money) they would have all their equipment there and at the disposal of whoever is in charge to help stop this thing, wouldn't they?
Who`s New World Order ?

Do you remember who first spoke of the new World Order? It was George Bush Sr. Remember the Thousand Points of Light / New World Order speech? The new World Order is run by the same bastards who dont mind charging you $5.00 a gallon while bragging about record profits!
If you throw a drink can to the side of the highway and a cop sees you, there`s going to be a stiff fine and if you cain`t pay-up your going to jail. BP has turned one third of the Gulf into a dump site with no way to stop the damn thing. It`s like building a car that goes 300mph. and not putting brakes on the damn thing! Just a matter of time befor the big wreck! Lets see what happens when they start drilling offshore of Virgina, Maryland, Ches. bay area. Somebody`s ass needs to go to jail.
The new world order (Bush/Chenney) which is Big Oil / Big Insurance / Big Banks and Big Corporations like Halliburton (Chenney) along with the big lobby groups like the US Chamber of Commerce who by the way is the only group who spent more money lobbying congress last year than Big Oil, they run the country. They are the government. We sold it to them. Put the the blame where the blame lies! You and I for believing Corperate America has our best interest at heart! We put the Fox in charge of guarding the hen house! I want my Gulf Back Damnit!!!
Thanks for letting me throw-up / Rick / F-36 Miss Kitty

No problem Rick, go ahead and give it a heave!. I'm feed up with the whole dam mess myself.
Our government,,,on both sides,,,are screwing us all. As far as big business is concerned,,,,without business, big, or small, or in between, we all need, to provide us with the jobs,,,,jobs,,,,and more jobs!
So no matter how you feel about business and their profits, without them we're all screwed too.
For as many fingers that can be pointed at Bush/Cheney, or others, on one side,,,,just as many fingers can be pointed at the other side.
I think what is best is to figure out what is best for all of us, be honest about it and get our "lost their way" government to go in "that" direction, don't you think.
Exp.
Do we want out government getting us so deep in debt, that in a few years, all or any money made from taxes will go to the interest payment on that debt?
Do we want people from foreign countries coming into our country illegally and draining on our wealth till our country becomes what they just left?
Do we want our morals, to become so low that perversion is rampant in our country?
I could go on, but I think I made my point, at least I hope so!
Will it come down to the point that we all just set around bitching at each other, pointing the finger, or giving the finger, at/to each other, or do we get together, figure out what we want from our country and what we want it to be, and get these scum bag politicians out of office, on both sides of the isle, and get back our country, starting this NOVEMBER.
We need to put the fear of GOD into these SOB's. Cause if we don't, we can bend over and kiss our a$$ goodby.
