Hello all,
Any suggestions on re-painting the large black strip on my flybridge? it seems to be cracking and needs a fresh coat. What kind of pain? How should I prep? Any and all advise is welcomed!
Thanks!

I have used Interlux Brightside paint. Wash the area, wipe the area to be painted with good solvent (want to get rid of any wax), and then sand with 200-300 grit. If you have a really pitted / cracked surface you might want to use some filler or fairing compound to clean it up. I forget if I had to prime mine first or just went right to the Brightside (after masking of course). I tried 'roll and tip' method and it worked reasonably well, but makes things lot easier if you remove any railings etc first (on my F32 the safety railings are mounted to the striped section; painting around them is a real p.i.t.a...

prime it first after you ruff it up, and use the green painters tape Frog Tape they sell it at Home depot it's better than the blue stuff.
(Frog tape is not a shot at our friends up north, due to my past I felt I would need to state that)
