OK - enough - its been in the 30s and 40s for a week now.
Oh well. Cleaned and cooked up a nice pan of 8 fresh Doves tonight. Marinated in Soy sauce, then stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon, lightly breaded in corn meal and parmesan, and pan fried in my grandmother's heavy iron skillet. Served over rice with Allegro marinade. Damn that was good!
Oh yeah - may be above 50 this weekend - going boating!

Got a friend getting inducted into the NHRA Division 2 hall of fame this weekend and will be in Jacksonville Fl for a few days to celebrate. Looking forward to the warm weather.

Sounds Awesome Ross

I havn't been Dove hunting in 2 years, miss it. I usually brine mine for 30 minutes with 1 cup kosher salt, 7 cups distilled water, 1/2 cup fine Cognac and a few tbs. Cilantro.
Supposed to be in the 40s here this weekend, I just might stretch her legs as well

Got news for you David, Its 19 this morn here in Jax and gonna be 25 tonite, 29 Friday night and 32 Saturday night. But supposed to get 59 during the day Saturday. Am going offshore diving.
Rossjo, I have had quail cooked like that and man was it soooo delicious!

19 in JAX? Ouch! 27 here this am ... we usually don't have this much cold weather.
Prefer Quail to Doves, but Doves have that livery flavor - which can be good.
Ron - like the brine idea!
Roy - Quail this way is awesome. Many add jalapenos for some spice, but I leave them out.
David - NHRA Hall of Fame? Wow - who and what car?
Supposed to get to mid/upper 50's Saturday, Sunday and Monday, so definitely going for a boat ride! The Trojan is so warm with the heater I added into the Stbd cooling system.

Chauzer, I will have you know that my butt is not baby soft. More like suede. With some of the hairs left on the hide. Ok, a lot of the hairs left on, but I am swaying into the land of TMI!
I will take your 16 degrees at what- ten percent humidity- over our 40 degrees at 80 percent humidity any day of the week. It cuts thru your clothes and cools you
That being said, when it gets to be something like 4 degrees, that is just plain cold, whatever the humidity!

foofer, i didn't need that mental image first thing this morning! cool avatar by the way and thanks for the diving info!
the thing thats the killer is wind chill. i can handle humidity with cold (less bloody noses and dry skin) , but the wind cuts right through a guy.
we were blessed with another 6 inches of the white stuff last night and now the sun is shining, a balmy 15 degrees, and a 6 degree wind chill. (at least) the snowmobile trails will be open. now, if i can just get the damn snowblower to start...
hey! how do you turn a dishwasher into a snowblower?
hand her a shovel.

We just got back from a week long hunting trip. 5 degrees out, freezing spray and 12 foot swells. I was very very happy to get home this evening
I was tired of the cold.

Ok Yankee we get it. But you all come down here in August and we'll play a game in boot camp called Yankee drop. Seems your thick hide doesn't cool has well as our thin skin. And when do you guys start that wonderful sport of ice fishing.
