Flushing FWC engine

I was going to replace my coolant in my FWC Crusader this spring. Once I drain all the old coolant from block and manifolds and begin to refill how doyou purge the system of air. I'm thinking I could run the engines with the heat exchanger cap off and let the air bubble out and fill as necessary. Will this process work?

After the block is filled, if the manifolds are FWC, check to ensure they have coolant as well. Run engine with cap off, and top up as needed. When no further change in level, install cap, keep an eye on the temp gauge and run engine to operating temp for a while. Shut off, let cool, and check level. Top up if needed. Works for me.
Are you using the green stuff or extended life?
