installed two new sections of wet exhaust hose onto my engine today , man what a pain in the %^$#^*^ that stuff is to work with, and I had it in the sun for a while to make it more easy to work with,
Im sure my back will remind me of this job in the morning,,
lol,, any tips on working with this stuff, ??
the good news is, my engine started right up and runs fine,
had some issues with the raw pump, I installed a new impeller and or what looked like a new impeller, (was in a bag marked, new impeller) and it did seem a little stiff putting it in, and it blew apart after about 1/2 hour of use, I think it was old, I did see some very small cracks in the rubber, and I mean small, but I guess it was just old rubber,
going to buy a couple of new ones tommorrow and give it another shot,

I've used some heat and dish soap for exhaust hose.

Have always heard that impellers have a shelf life but have never been offered a good explanation why. I do know this, if they are on display in the store in a clear plastic package, and the store has florecent lighting, the UV given off by the lights will deffinately attack the rubber over time.

Rubber impellers will get hard and brittle with age. In the pump or on the shelf. It is important that if the impeller came apart in the pump to check your oil cooler and heat exchanger (if you have closed cooling, which you likely do in southern waters) for parts of the impeller vanes that are now plugging the cooling tubes in these componants. You will need to reverse flush them with the inlet hoses off to clear the tubes. Sorry to say, looks like you will be wrestling with more hoses. Better than overheating your engine or Trans. jimbo36.
