Well if he got a deal for 12K....I absolutely stole mine!

Though I cannot go boating for the money I spent...not long though!
I will lots more than that in my boat by the time I am done, but will have new mechanical and cosmetics.

Is it common not to have the lower helm on the 36?. Looks like it opens up some space

The lower helm was a option . It also is a big selling point as more folks want the lower helm . Funny thing most people don't use the lower helm . I have one , and when I got the boat it was a plus . With that said I have run the boat once from there and wish I did not have it now .

1 or 2 people here have removed theirs .

My boat is a model 461 Sportfisherman which was built without a lower helm...I am putting one in.

I will be using the boat year round for coastal cruising and think that being able to cruise from the cabin will be a big plus.

We have actually been discussing removing the flybridge all together and just going with the lower helm only...most likely will leave the flybridge in place but the boat sure looks sleek without it.

As to the space, were going to use electronic shifters and controls and a mulit display gauges so the space used will be greatly reduced...plus were going with an old time ships wheel that will mount directly to the original bulkhead and save us some space.

My 2 cents . For my year around use The enclosed upper helm works well , yes I do use a small heater up there . I rally don't like using the lower helm . But some folks do use the lower and never or rarely use the upper helm .

There was a no flybrige F36 for sale recently looked pretty good .

Looks like quite a bit of reconstruction / renovation took place, so hard to tell if it had a bridge at one point and it just never went back on. Looks custom from the deck up, and the majority of the interior is non-standard as well. Actually, the hull and dinette (seats and table) and electrical panels are the only things that DO look original on this thing (and maybe side and forward windows)... and even at that the electrical panels have been relocated and hull repainted... so who knows what else is going on in there...

Would have to wonder if this is a sinking or fire victim that was gutted and rebuilt.
