Ok Guys,
Spill it! .....well don't lol!

I need to know how your head systems are in your tri cabins. This system in my boat was 2 mansfield heads with a Y valve and macerator pump that goes in to 1 olding tank in the compartment ahead of the bilge.

I ripped it all out because it was SHOT! Im going to put vacu-flush head system in the boat. How are your heads done in these big boats?

Old style hand pumps. Simple, no problems. 60 gallon holding tank centered in front if the generator (forward steps).

With a vacu-flush, there is the head, the vacuum generator and a regular holding tank or you can get the vacuum generator and tank in one. Where I'm from there is no overboard discharge allowed so no "y" fitting, maserator or thru-hull fitting for overboard discharge.

Mine has a vacu-flush system which works great. Two heads, vacuum pump, and holding tank. The holding tank and vacuum pump are located just aft of the forward head and centered on the hull under the salon floor. The tank has a level indicator so I know when it needs pumped.

Mine will be set up with 2 heads, 2 vacuum generators that will go into 1 holding tank in the center of the boat ahead of the bilge (as i like to call it, the basement )

I don't have 1 generator for 2 heads because if the system goes down, i can still have 1 head. but those generators are BIG $$$$ WOW!

Joe, to buy yourself more time to aquire funds, you could install one gen at first then a second the following season. Carry a set of check valves and a few other spare parts and you'll be set. The valves (joker valves, duckbills etc) are the most common thing to fail. If the gen has easy access, the valves shouldn't take long to change (just smelly!!).

I have the 2 head, 1 pump vacuflush system. Love it !!!! Word of caution..... fully instruct EVERY person on board about how to use it!!!!! And I don't let kids try to flush, I tell they're parents to do it for them.
3 days after I bought this boat, someone royaly clogged the system. Was a nasty mess

When we bought our 10 meter it had 2 heads and 1 pump. I researched the proper system and vacu flush recommends a pump for each head. We love the system. The only problem we have is that our boat came with a TDX system and a 10 gallon holding tank. That is no longer legal in the CT area. The largest tank I could fit in the available space was a 12 gallon holding tank. Needless to say, we pump out quite often. LOL

Ron, you're right about clogging up the head. NO TOILET PAPER FLUSHING!

Gotta go with the '3 sheet rule', and some companies (SeaLand being one, I think) make bio-degradable TP that helps (it breaks down faster, even while still in your holding tank). If you go with regular household TP, you are asking for trouble. If you don't let 'em use much TP and give 'em sandpaper to work with, you will be amazed at how people manage to hold it till they get back to shore facilities!

well I mean you can use toilet paper, but put it in a waste basket, and not the head so you don't clog it up!

I like the idea of sandpaper though

My system will flush almost anything. The only problem happens when you don't hold down the foot peddle a few seconds. If you don't, stuff has a traffic jam at the duck bill valves

I'll stick with the flush,grind and pump system to the holding tanks 40 gallon forward and aft. Then hooked to y valves one each, one way to pumpout. Other to grinder and through hull. Works good. And just flush good.
