Gas prices..this can't be good for us
If things don't settle down in the Middle East, I fear we are all going to be enjoying our boats sitting at the Dock.
This can't be good, considering the increase in demand in the summer on gas along with everything that is Happening.
Might have to install a mast and sails on the boat.

When I bought my boat diesel was $4.98 per gallon. I really hope it doesn't go that high again but I wont be sitting at the dock either way. The season is too short to worry about another $1K for fuel in the grand scope on things fuel is not my biggest expense with the boat. Don't get me wrong I not happy about what's coming and it is coming but life is to short to let this bring me down. Business sucks and I have too many other problems I may be forced to sell my boat but it wont be do to the cost of fuel.
Speaking of which any body want to buy a boat:) just kidding not yet.

When I was stationed at Dyess AFB outside Abilene TX in 1963-5 it was 10 cents a gal.
From here, I think things could really get bad, and I hate to say that, but the way things are developing, it don't look good.
Our present government and some before that has helped put the USA in a position of not having the material to defend ourselves. And now they are spending us into oblivion.
I can't understand why the people don't understand this in the long run. It's about OIL,,,,sure it is,,,,without it, our lives as we know it will stop in it's tracks. Do I like that,,,,no, but that's just the way it is.
Take the air away,,,,same thing.
Our government says,,,oh,,,go solar,,,,I would love to,,,,but try paying for just one panel that might power a 5 watt bulb, I can't afford it.
This is by far the worst president I have seen in my lifetime. He makes Jimmy Carter look like St Patrick, and at the worst time in history.
To other countries he has made us look like the spittoon of the world, he has sided with the union bosses to drain companies till they go bankrupt, he has divided this country in race relations more than any president in history, he has held back the uses of our natural resources making the country hostage to foreign countries and draining us dry and putting us in such a debt, we'er close to bankruptcy.
I can't go on,,,,my blood pressure.

Here in Toronto
converting 1 US gal to liters = 3.785 liters
we are paying 1.214 / liter
That means we pay $4.60 gallon for regular gas
This sucks major, considering that after Saudi Arabia, Canada is the Number#2 Exporter of Oil, and biggest supplier to the US
Why the hell is OUR gas and Oil so damn expensive

Marinas here typically charge an extra 30-40 cents more per liter for the privledge of buying it at the water, so that means that gallon of gas is now
$5.73-$6.11/gallon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And there is no end in site

You missed 2 other points : a 'Canadian Gallon' is 4.5 litres (compared the US at 3.785).... so at 1.214/l we are actually paying $5.46 a gallon... and then you can add on the premium price for marine...Torcan wrote:Here in Toronto

Second point : Canadian oil, refined into gas, can be bought at US pumps cheaper than it can at Canadian pumps... even with the Canadian dollar at or above par!!!
Can't blame OPEC for that one - blame idiotic governments and taxes.
I didn't miss that, I deliberately used a conversion to US gallonscaptainmaniac wrote: 'Canadian Gallon' is 4.5 litres (compared the US at 3.785).... so at 1.214/l we are actually paying $5.46 a gallon... and then you can add on the premium price for marine...
Most posters here are American, and I was trying to compare what they are paying to what we are paying for the same amount.
One poster above mentioned $3.89/gal where we are paying $4.60 for the exact same amount
US $ and CDN $ are just about par so the dollar factor doesn't come into play
