just wondering how many of you guys actually use your windshield wipers,
or if any of you have them at all,
I have been boating for a while now and dont ever remember using wipers in any of my boats

RAINX, works great. Spray on, wipe in, rinse and squeege. The water beads up and runs off. No need for wipers. I apply it twice a season. jimbo36

I'm usually on the flybridge when underway unless the weather isn't cooperating. If we plan on hitting more than one anchorage on a given outing and it starts raining while we're on the hook, we usually haul anchor and that's when we'll move to our next anchorage. Would rather spend time under way in the rain and save the good weather for being on the hook. Can't sit on the aft deck and enjoy so may as well take the time then to move on. So yes, we use our wipers. We have two now but I want to add one to the middle windshield as well.

Mine work but the cover has only been off the winsheld 2 times in 6 years and one time was to replace the cover .

hey Jimbo, Im fimiliar with Rain X thats what I was thinking, as I am considering deleting my wipers and motors, as they need to be re wired and the motors are in poor condtion along with the wiper arms etc,
I just dont do the type of boating that requires I run in the rain, I just dont see the point of replacing them, as even a few times I got caught in the rain , I didnt use them anyway, , just opened the window and took it easy
so , I think I will move foward with the removal and leave it at that

I've tried rainx, works great for rain, but heavy salt water spray not so good. I keep 6 spare blades on board at all times

I think that after you've cruised head in into a chop, you'll find that the windshield gets pretty wet on these boats and you'll want to have wipers.

Rain X is good but I think you'll find that its not enough.

I can't imagine not having and using them I even added a washer which gets used regularly.

Me niether....can't imagine not having them. Guess it depends on your type of boating.

we also used ainex for a numbe rof seasons. as when we brought her home none of the wiper motors worked and the arms & blades were MIA.

Over time all therr motors were replaced and the electric washers work, but keep moving out of adjustment.

It must rain here more than other areas because we use the wipers alot, but we boat year round and spray is the biggest reason whether it's raining or not.

wow, guess you guys do a different type of boating, I dont like going out in that type of weather, I know it rains sometimes
maybe Ill consider leaving them on, I know the motors, and arms are shot,
just didnt see the need to spend hundreds of dollars for something that I dont recall ever using,
and yes I am a fair weather boater, I want to enjoy it, lol

I've used my wipers a tonne! In the F32 if you are running in any sizable chop with a cross wind the spray tends to land on your windshield. I boat on the great lakes and on many days that spray will hit you on the flybridge that's when the lower helm is used with the radar on and wipers flying!

Thats when you close the curtains on the fly bridge and run it from up top

My next boat will only have 1 helm

My expirience is even the best laid plans weather wise sometimes take an unexpected turn for the worst, fair weather boater or not. The more time you spend on the water, the higher the odds are that one day you'll wish you had them. Safety issue in my opinion. Here's a link to a place I consider to have pretty good prices.
