i'm not going to be at the boat a couple of days but can someone answer this. on my 78 f32 i have one cleat mounted centerline on my deck at the bow. i think the forward deck at that area is 3/4" thick. can someone confirm this? there has been no repairs and none needed but what is the factory thickness? many thanks

I can't tell you the exact thickness but it is a sandwich - inner fiberglass skin, wood core, outter fiberglass skin. I'd say 3/4-1" is about right.

I had my pulpit off last year and replaced my windlass, so as Jav mentioned, that's about right...Will may chime in, he replaced his foredeck a few years ago on his 32, so he would know.

What are you doing, to need that measurement?

I replace my forward cleat last season and from what I remember it's between 3/4 to 1 inch thick.

2 layers of 3/4" balsa, glass matt between and then the outer layers of glass below and glass/gel above ... so go with at least 1 3/4" + as the thickness.

This shows the two layers 3/4" balsa better

I belive its just under 1" on a F36 anyway

I would not expect the 36 to be any different to the 32... the OP was asking about F32 so my data is correct for my 78.

It is 1" thick around the whole deck. Picture from a project that I got into

Everyone else is saying 3/4 to 1" . The best way to check would be to look where you anchor line goes through . maybe it is thiner at the bow where the cleat is . I know I have a 36 not a 32 but I don't think it would be thiner .

Ready - That looks like a heck pf a project you took on. congrats on finishing it. I've got some similar work ahead on my bridge floor, in the area where the chair mounts, but my front deck is OK.

When I put my pulpit and new cleat in, the deck was more than than 3/4" thick. Don't know how thick, but I'm going out to the boat in a few minutes and will check where the hawse pipe goes through. That's another one of my 100's of projects - new, 316 stainless hawse pipe with cover (have it, just need to install it).

Right at a 1" on my F36 about same on a near by F32 checked at the hawse pipe

Measured mine yesterday - 1" thick front deck on 1974 F32.
