I need help re-running the coaxial TV antenna l on my 1983 10 Meter express. The previous owner cut the line to run larger speaker wires to the upgraded speakers. This leaves little or no roon in the window channel where the wires go from the arch to the side panel. I also need to find out how to get behind the tuck and roll side panel to run the wire to the A/B antenna box next to the helm.

Patience...as RWS should be along soon and can probably help you. He's the meter man.

And welcome!

I did this a couple of months ago on my mid cabin, it should be close. The window channel was not an option for the same reason.

I removed the inside arch panels and followed the VHF antenna wire which ran towards the helm through the engine room bulkhead. If you remove the storage box next to the helm seat you should be able to see it and then pull it the rest of the way behind the helm and into the cabin.

Thanks Bobct. My VHF antenna is mounted about 3' forward of my arch and goes straight into the side of my boat. Is yours mounted on your arch?[/img]

yes, mine is on the arch now next to my radar dome which is in the center. The wire comes through the top of the arch, across, starboard side and into the cabin.

I also installed a cable jack in the stern so I can hook-up if I want to.

Does anyone know how to get behind my side panel?

by "side panel" do you mean where the light switch is located?

That's where I ran my cable. You don't need to remove it all the way. If you take off the screw caps and all the screws but the bottom near the windshield frame.

At that point, it'll pull it away (flex) so you can run the wire. You also have that bimini support in the way too.

Remove the storage box next to the helm seat and you should see where the wires can come through the bulkhead.
