Hey guys,

I need some help with the door latch on the little door going down into the cabin. There was no latch there when I bought the boat and I don't know what kind of lock to get.

Theres a big hole on the bottom, and a little hole on top which goes to the catch in the fiberglass and both holes aren't hollow. What kind of latch is it so I don't have to reconfigure the whole door?..... PLEASE HELP!

Mine is a '79 so it may be different, but are you talking about the door knob on the companionway door? If that is what you are asking about, mine is a doorknob just like all of the doorknobs on the four interior doors but this one has a keyed lock.

I ended up finding it through perko online and its a tubular latch its called. I hope it works, it looks like it does. It will be in at West Marine on Wed.
