Anyone have any tricks from keeping the pencil zincs from unscrewing themselves inside the heat exchanger. DOn't know if it's just mine but they always seem to come of the brass cap..... Could you use a drip of loctite?

You want as much contact between the zinc and the exchanger. Can you carefully stake where the zinc threads in with a small punch?

Tighten them with pliers and they should be good . I have found many lose when I buy them .

is the zinc dissipating at the threads, mine usually come off because the zinc usually deteriorates at the threads
I have mercruisers and the heat exchanger zincs are tiny
