Vibration - Check List?

Last time boat was out - I dont remember as much vibration as I am getting now.
What would be a check list to kind of go through first so I can figure out how to pinpoint vibration source? (I know.. could be a 1000 things)
If I eyeball my rudders - they look a little off but I cannot believe that having a rudder that much off will make that big of a difference.
Vibration feels strongest towards the rear like it may be the rudders though or is the area any rudder, shaft or alignment issue would manifest itself?
I have asked my mechanic about doing an shaft/engine alignment - he did not seem real thrilled about that. Maybe he can at least get some measurements at the coupler to see if that is the cause. Underway I looked at the couplings and did not see anything out of sorts (as I sipped on a cocktail...so not much value there)
I love boat ownership. Something new every weekend.
